Sunuş: “Ses(ler)imizin ses(ler)i / Editorial: “The Voice(s) of Our Voice(s)"

Kurzfassung/Abstract

“Whose voice is considered legitimate? Which bodies are able to work ‘in harmony’? Whose voices—shaped by cultural, financial, symbolic, and social capital—are heard more loudly? Which bodily or social norms shape voice? Silence, no less than voice itself, can also be a voice; so what meanings does it produce?” Our call for papers began with these questions, and through the diverse responses we received, we sought to think about the different dimensions of voice, to understand the relationships between these dimensions, to reconsider voice as a whole, and—most importantly—to generate new questions that make power relations visible.

“Kimin sesi makbul kabul edilir? Hangi bedenler ‘uyum’ içinde çalışır? Hangi kültürel, finansal, sembolik ve sosyal sermayelerin sesleri daha çok çıkar? Hangi bedensel ya da toplumsal normlar sesi şekillendirir? Sesin kendisi kadar sessizlik de bir ses olabilir; peki hangi anlamları üretir?” Çağrı metnimiz bu sorularla başladı ve gelen farklı yanıtlarla sesin farklı boyutları üzerinde düşünmeye, bu boyutların birbiriyle ilişkilerini anlamaya, sesi bir bütün olarak tekrar ele almaya ve en önemlisi güç ilişkilerini görünür kılacak şekilde yeni sorular üretmeye çalıştık.
