Kurzfassung/Abstract
The PKP approach is first presented in general terms, essentially as transdiagnostic psychotherapy – even before PKP turns to the individual disorders. This makes it clear that the concept can be applied to virtually all Axis I disorders. Initially conceived as psychiatric psychotherapy in a 25-minute setting (consultation and clinic visit), PKP was soon applied by psychological psychotherapists in the 50-minute setting of guideline-based psychotherapy, which is why the name was expanded to include "psychological." At the same time, it is a modular psychotherapy that does not follow a rigid therapy manual, but focuses on the individual patient with their unique personality structure and problem situation, thus providing tailored therapy. This takes place as individual sub-modules within the framework of the three major modules (pillars): symptom therapy – skills training/emotion exposure – and schema-analytic work with the dysfunctional survival rule.
