Prawicowy populizm jako wyzwanie dla edukacji religijnej w Polsce

Kurzfassung/Abstract

Right-wing populists in Poland have been instrumentalising the Catholic Church and the Christian religion for years. They do this in order to achieve their political agendas by means of numerous manipulations and lies, as well as by exacerbating social dichotomies and xenophobic attitudes in Polish society. These problematic phenomena are spreading today, especially among young Poles, and should therefore be seen as a pressing challenge for religious education in schools. In this context, the purpose of this article is not only to theoretically analyse the phenomenon of right-wing populism in Poland, taking into account its impact on democracy, the Catholic Church, young people and religious education itself, but also to propose conceptual and practical implications for countering right-wing populism.
