Kurzfassung/Abstract
Journalism should reflect the differentiation of society to be relevant. The awareness that journalism must change for this reason has grown significantly in recent years. “Diversity and inclusion” are among the 20 most relevant innovations in all five countries participating in the JoIn-DemoS project. The question of who does journalism is coming to the fore, as our case studies showed. Even if the approaches and target groups of the presented projects in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, and the United Kingdom differ, their overall goals were the same. They all sought to enlarge the plurality of opinions, backgrounds, and knowledge to generate new perspectives and to address new, marginalized target groups. This implied a commitment and structural change at all levels.
