Kurzfassung/Abstract

Young people perceive the Catholic Church in Poland as an institution closed to people with a different worldview and unable to engage in open dialogue in the face of socio-cultural changes. The school pastoral care, which is one of the forgotten resources in the Polish concept of religious education, could help overcome the discrepancy in the activity of the Church perceived by young people, as well as the tensions between inclusion and exclusion in the approach to religion as part of the processes of upbringing, education and socialization. In this context, the aim of this article is to look for inspiration for the Church in Poland in the practice of school pastoral care in Germany understood as an extracurricular and completely voluntary pastoral offer, which is a plane of broadly understood inclusion, which places a specific person - a student, parent or teacher - at the center of its activities with all her baggage of individual or social experiences.
