Les relations entre terrorisme et médias du point de vue des SIC allemandes

Kurzfassung/Abstract

German communication studies have neglected the research object "terrorism" in its history. Particularly research in the field of the theoretical penetration of the phenomenon as well as suggestions for practice were limited to the most necessary. However, some studies were carried out, which content analyzed print and TV documents and, more recently, coverage on the Internet. These investigations were carried out increasingly after the attacks of September 11, 2001, and mostly case-related, that is, the coverage during some days or weeks after a certain attack. This article gives an overview of the contribution of German communication research to terrorism studies, classifies the studies according to different categories and raises research desiderata.
